It is important to maintain your visual identity across your various communication platforms, including  Print, Signage and and Web.  Design considerations for all three media can be dramatically different.
Designing for Print
Print design files either have bleeds or an inside margin, rarely or never both.  Text should never run on the edge of a file.  Designs have to take physical processes into consideration.  Some colors can be produced in RGB but not cmyk.   Image files need to be high resolution but sized appropriately and should be in jpeg or tiff format; gif files can cause problems or result in poor quality output.

Poster Design

Posters are meant to be viewed from a distance, so graphics and lettering should be large and simple.  Lots of words or complex images will not work.   All fonts should be vector and all graphics should be high resolution.

Web Design

Because you want pages to load quickly, all images need to be LOW resolution and often gif files are the smallest size and can contain some programming for effects.  Text should be to the point, but text also needs to consider including desirable search terms, which will affect copy choices.  Image choice and it’s positioning with accompanying text needs to be considered but will change from device to device so all layouts need to be flexible.
